With studios in Mt Waverley, Balwyn, Rowville, Box Hill and Oakleigh the Victorian Ballet School has participated in the development of dance since its inception over 40 years ago.
We invite all children to learn to dance in a safe environment by highly trained teachers. We cater for students who wish to participate in dance recreationally or who wish to pursue dance as a profession.
Our Junior School program is an introduction to ballet through learning fundamental movement and introduces music, space, and creativity while developing individual physical and mental growth in a fun and energetic environment. Our Senior School students are encouraged to do more than one ballet class a week in order to further develop their classical ballet technique. We also encourage students to broaden their appreciation of all dance forms by learning other dance styles and the benefits they bring to mind, body awareness, coordination, strength, poise, breathing, musicality and ultimately – performance.

I wanted to let you know that I thoroughly enjoyed performing these past two days. My family loved watching the concert and enjoyed all the performances. I wanted to say well done for another wonderful end of year concert. the performance is always a credit to you both – your care of the girls and commitment to their wellbeing always shines through.
I always love to see each level dance, but I was particularly taken by how well the major 2s are dancing together now – they really are working smoothly as a group. Im sure this is an indication of practice – but I also think the friendship they have must hone their team work.

I love the end of year presentation where you are both so gracious, encouraging, supportive and thankful for your students and your staff. I feel very blessed that Elysia has had and will continue to be around women who have passion and who are also very kind.

Thank you for an outstanding end of year concert. As usual it was a spectacular of colour, music and costumes. The Greatest Showman music was dramatic and uplifting. I loved it all.
Thank you, Victorian Ballet School for the most enjoyable LA Dance tour with performances at Disneyland, Universal Studios & Hollywood. It was a very well organised tour from rehearsals to the dancing in LA. Watching the girls grow; becoming more confident, sharing a unique experience; forming a close bond and firm friendships, was wonderful. As a parent, I could not be more proud of the girls, their performances and the fantastic role models that this dance school has with the Principal and the teachers. This is one of my most memorable life events and I wasn’t even dancing.
We have been part of the Victorian Ballet School family for over 18 years and dance has been a constant part of our lives. The growth of this dance school over the years is a reflection on the dedicated principal Georgina Ginis and all her staff. She is a role model for all her students, her love and passion for dance and her vision is such an inspiration.
There are wonderful experienced caring teachers on hand to nurture these beautiful strong dancers with many different forms of dance taught such as Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary, Hip hop, Broadway and Tap. There is also opportunity for senior students to assist the teachers in class as student teachers for junior classes.
A highlight is watching all the hard work of the students and teachers come to life at the end of the year concert, which is always spectacular. The smile or wave on every student as they perform in front of their loved ones is a form of accomplishment of a job well done. Plenty of hugs awaiting in the foyer as well as the array of flower bouquets.
The most amazing opportunity Victorian Ballet school offers is the USA Dance Around the World tour for students and their families. We were very fortunate to be part of this once in a lifetime experience. All the hard work that Georgina, her staff and of course the dancers put in for 6 months was so worth it. To watch our beautiful dancers dance down at Hollywood Boulevard, Downtown Disney, California Adventure, Universal Studios and of course the Disneyland dance around the World parade was such a proud moment. The friendships for both students and families that were formed will last forever.
I appreciate everything Victorian Ballet school does for my daughter. The love of dance and the passion for performance shines on her face. I am sure we will be part of this wonderful dance school family for many more years to come.
Firstly congratulations on a wonderful year. The choreography, costumes and performances were outstanding. The senior dancers were the best I have ever seen in the 7 years that Stephanie has danced for your ballet school. Once again congratulations and keep up the great work.

A big thank you for another wonderful year at VBS. We were all thrilled for Molly when she was awarded the scholarship, a secret desire she’d harboured for some time. Her only complaint was that her face was sore from smiling. She also said it was the best day of her life- perhaps an indication of just how she feels about the role of dance in her life! She has been well supported by teaching staff at VBS , and is fortunate to be in a very supportive group of girls who all wholeheartedly expressed their happiness for Molly.

I just wanted to let you know Georgina is lovely. She is kind and has a caring nature and this is reflected in the culture of the VBS . I feel my daughter has been supported during her time with the ballet school and the teachers have also been kind and gentle in their approach.
